Add any suggestions you have...
In Looking Glass Wars, other Kingdoms, Queendoms, Territories, etc were mentioned. I like this idea. I would also like to take other places from that world to use in the game.

I also liked the hierarchy setup in it and the whole Aunt Redd thing. Though, personally I didn’t think she was realistic enough. She was more insane than anything else. I liked the whole Mad Hatter being her bodyguard and the White Rabbit being her tutor thing, and how Mr. Carroll screwed it up.

American McGee’s Alice (videogame) was pretty dark—a bit horrific, actually. I liked the feel of it, but if we played it that way it would have to be slightly more mature. Is that okay with you?

Should the game be played in an atmosphere like that, or should it be slightly more light-hearted as it was in the Looking Glass Wars? Or do we want an in-between?

Personally, I’d like to stick with those two versions of the story. The Disney version of Louis Carroll’s work was a little too ludicrous for me, and the original needed work and reminds me of clowns (as in they’re supposed to be for children but come off as creepy).

I’d like to have creatures like the Jabberwocky in the game as they did in both Looking Glass Wars and American McGee’s Alice. However, I liked American McGee’s version of the cat better than the Looking Glass Wars.

Do we want to take the whole Crystal Heart thing and the imaginative powers that were shown in Looking Glass Wars? Did we want to have the two worlds (our world and the world Wonderland was in) connect like they did in the Looking Glass Wars—through the pool, that is? Or did we want an underground Wonderland that was just one big place? Rabbit-holes, anyone?

What time period should we do it in? If we kept it in the Looking Glass Wars’ world then should we have it at the same time as everything’s happening? Or should we have it, say, be placed fifty years before or afterwards. We could play around Alyss’s descendants or, for that matter, her ancestors.

Did we want to keep some of the same characters? We could just do the same time period and take the whole Alyss and Redd thing out of the story, or we could change it. We could just pretend that whole part of story never happened and make it up as we go along? I dunno…what do you think?

I'd just like to say a few things.
Ok, more than a few things.
Your dark cat icon has me wanting to play a darker, maturer game. No matter what I really don't want to have the same characters as The Looking Glass Wars. I like the world, but I'm not exactly for the whole Alyss/Dodge/Redd/etc. thing. Maybe Hatter and King Arch, or even Bibwit Hart. Now that I think about it I wouldn't even mind doing a time before Genevieve and Redd's parents. Ooh, maybe a time when the ruling class was, well, let's just say a little different?
And the whole underground idea is kewl too. Maybe we could have two games going? A darker version like the game and then a lighter version like the books?
I'm thinking of having a dark, mature character in either anyway.
I think we should just plain have these labeled mature, even if we do the lighter version. I don't want the kid-edited kiss-on-the-cheek version. Ya know? I'm not saying this as the Muse of Perversion that wants sex or anything, but merely that I don't like kiddified stuff.
Ya know?
I think I support the two RPs plan.
ALSO, how are we going to do this through LiveJournal? Do you post your responses on your journal or as comments or what? I've only ever had my own journal so I really don't know what to do with communities.
So yeah.
I think that's all I really have to say right this second. I may add more later.... >.>

Blessed be,

Re: I'd just like to say a few things.
I'm still pissed, mind you, but I'll answer your questions with the assumption that we will deal our differences eventually, and that I shall not /stay/ pissed. So, yeah.

Yes, that's why I chose it along with the bg for the journal community. I'd like to have the feel of the game slightly more akin to American McGee's Alice, but keeping with a lot of the same world as Looking Glass Wars.

And yeah, I was hoping you wouldn't want to do the whole Alyss/Dodge/Redd thing. It would be too akin to playing the Harry Potter era when role-playing Harry Potter, or even the Eragon era when playing Eragon. You get what I'm saying?

Personally, I'd like to focus on one game at a time. I just don't have that much free time anymore what with college coming up and jobs and whatnot. I'd stick with the darker version, preferably, which isn't to say there can't be light moments. Deathly Hollows was pretty damn dark, but there were still moments when I was laughing my ass off.

I got the idea for the underground thing from the original title of Lewis Carroll's book. Alice and her adventures underground. It reminded me of the Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins. So, yeah, I'd be cool with sticking to that.

It might be interesting to stick with a time before Genevieve and Redd's parents. Or we can just ex out that whole family completely and put our own in their place. As in they never existed. This means we could even have the same time period as Looking Glass Wars. Or we could even do a modern day version. Either way. I'm not so concerned with times and whatnot so I'll leave that up to you. I'd just like to leave it dark.

You do comments and stuff on this Livejournal by going up and running your mouse on the dark cat icon. There should be something that says "join this community". You join it and then you can post to it by going up to the top where your account settings are listed and pressing "post to this community". You see, it's not really a journal so much as a bulletin board. And I was tired of having to panic every time I lost the numbers to my proboards.
